ZIAD

“This land is the property of God. It belongs to no one. I believe that God works on his own timetable, and when God is ready, He will give this land to whom he wants. The Koran says God will only give the land to believers in God – that those who fear God will be victorious and get the land.

My home is on this land and I would not want to live in a Palestinian homeland even if there was one. I believe that if the land I live on is really mine, I should not fear that anyone will take it away from me – because if God wants the land to be mine, and someone seizes it, God will give it back to me. There are Rabbis that agree with me on this.

As far as dividing the land into Palestinian and Jewish states, well, if no blood is spilled because of this, then wonderful. But if you take a bit of land from me and I take a bit of land from you, and one drop of blood is spilled because of this, then God forbid that this should happen. People should not be dying for land. A person is more precious than land. The land is here to serve us. It is not supposed to cause us conflict.

I do not really understand what caused this conflict over the land. The conflict isn’t for the good of anyone. I am sure that Ibrahim, the father of the Jews and Muslims, is angry at us for fighting over this land. God does not like to see his children fighting.”
